Policies and Procedures


Scheduling

Scheduling is booked at the first initial client meeting. Scheduling is on a first come first serve basis and 

we will do our best to accommodate your needs. Dawgz and Katz reserves the right to leave a 1-2 hour 

window between scheduled services in case of unforeseen circumstances. Our walking services are 

scheduled from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. There are no walks on weekends or late evenings. Cat sitting visits can 

be arranged for later times. No later than 8:00 pm. There will also be no walks on stat holidays. Pet sitting 

will still be available


Key Policy

Dawgz and Katz requires that we have two keys to your home. One will be kept in the office for emergencies and the other 

will be for day use.

For pet sitting we require a key to your home before you leave. We will not accept keys left under the mat or hidden 

because of security risks. Dawgz and Katz will also not lock the keys in the house

after the last visit in case you are delayed and your pets require extra visits.


Pet Behaviour
Dawgz and Katz does not take care of aggressive animals. We also do not take any animals that have not been altered on off 

leash walks. We do not allow cats to go outside while in our care for safety reasons


Alarms
Please notify Dawgz and Katz immediately if you have made any changes to locks or alarm codes. We are not responsible for 

tripping an alarm if the code has been changed without notification


Pet Supplies

Please ensure we know the location of all supplies and that you have enough pet food and litter for the entire time that you 

are gone. Dawgz and Katz is not responsible for purchasing supplies while you are away


Vaccinations
Dawgz and Katz requires that all pets have their vaccinations up to date


Stats and Holidays
 Dawgz and Katz will be closed for dog walking on the following holidays: New Years Day, Family Day, Good Friday, Labour 

Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and Boxing Day. Dawgz and Katz will also be closed one week out of the 

year. Clients will be notified at least 3 months in advance. For pet sitting during the holidays, please book 3-4 months in 

advance.


 Emergency Contacts

Please ensure that Dawgz and Katz has all necessary contact information before you leave your animal in our care. This 

includes vet information and any emergency contacts that we can get a hold of if needed.


Illness
If any animal becomes ill in our care; we will make every effort to contact you. If you can not be reached, we will contact 

your preferred vet for treatment. We have the authority to act in your pet's best interest, which may include seeking 

medical attention before notifying you. You agree to reimburse Dawgz and Katz for any fees or expenses incurred while 

tending to emergency or veterinary care


Weather
Dawgz and Kats will walk rain or shine. However, off leash group walks are subject to cancelation depending on severe 

weather. This includes -18 in the winter or above +30 in the summer. This is for the safety of your pet. We will offer 

bathroom breaks on these days at a reduced fee


Pricing
Prices are subject to change at any time. We will notify you of any changes in advance


Payment
Dawgz and Katz accepts cheques, cash and PayPal. We will invoice on the 1st and 15th of 

each month for dog walking clients. For pet sitting we require payment in advance. There will be a $20 fee for returned 

cheques, paid in cash.


Cancelations
Dawgz and Katz requires 48 hour for pet sitting cancelations. For walk we require 24 hours. There will be a $50 cancelation 

fee for pet sitting cancelations that are less than 48 hours



Dawgz and Katz aggress to provide all services in al professional and caring manner. The client will

sign a waiver at the initial meeting before Dawgz and Katz services begin. The client aggress to notify 

Dawgz and Katz of any concerns related to our services within 24 hours of the return home
